Recipe: LockDown Burger

A recipe made with love and out of boredom from the current Covid19 lock down.

Do you enjoy juicy, well done beef burgers? Missing eating outside? No problem! We have you covered. We came up with an easy & spicy version of the classic beef burger recipe that you can make at home and wanted to share it with you guys. Enjoy!

Ingredients

"Spicy Burger Sauce"

  • 1 Green Chili (chopped)

  • ¼ cup Iceberg Lettuce (chopped)

  • 1 tsp Sriracha Sauce

  • 1 tbsp Mustard Paste

  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup

  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice

"Burger Patty"

  • 500g Veal Meat (mince/ground)

  • 1 cup Onion (chopped)

  • 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste

  • 2 tbsp Green chili (chopped)

  • 2 tbsp Coriander / Cilantro (chopped)

  • 2 Eggs (beaten)

  • ¼ cup Bread Crumbs

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder

  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder

  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 tbsp Chili Flakes

  • 1 tsp All Spice (Shan Garam Masala / Powder)

  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce

"Assembly"

  • Brioche Burger Buns (as required)

  • Cheese Slices (as required)

  • Iceberg Lettuce (2 to 3 leaves)

  • Mayonnaise as required

  • Pickles / Cucumbers / Caramelized Onions (optional)

Directions

For the burger patty, mix all the ingredients in a bowl, marinate for one hour. Grease your hands (using a little cooking oil), make burger patties and keep in the fridge (not freezer) for 24 hours. This allows the patty to bind well together and not breakdown during the cooking process.

For the spicy burger sauce, add all the ingredients in a bowl, mix them well and your sauce is ready.

For the final assembly, fry beef patties from both sides (on an electric grill, skillet or frying pan) until completely cooked. Add cheese slice on top of the patty and remove from pan. Take burger buns and toast from both sides.

On the base bun spread mayonnaise, then place your iceberg lettuce. Place patty on top, drizzle some spicy burger sauce & cover with the top bun. Your burger is ready.

Marination: Overnight

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Serving: 4
